Jerome L. Greene Hall, designed by Max Abramovitz, the architect who designed the United Nations, is home to many of America’s most distinguished legal scholars, and is the site of one of the most comprehensive law libraries in the world. Opened in 1960, Greene Hall is the main building within the Law School complex.

One of the first law schools in the United States, Columbia today is considered pre-eminent in the areas of civil and human rights law, corporate law, legal philosophy, intellectual property and international and comparative law. Its graduates include U. S. presidents, Supreme Court justices, senators, governors, leading practitioners, human rights advocates; legal scholars; entrepreneurs, and other corporate leaders.
