Course Description | This course introduces students to the study of political development through the analytical frameworks of political science and political economy. It equips students with strategic tools to evaluate contemporary debates in political development and derive policy-relevant insights. The course focuses on the political dimensions and challenges of implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, using the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a foundation. Through six thematic modules—education, gender, and inequality; health, well-being, and demography; energy decarbonization and sustainable industry; sustainable food, land, water, and oceans; sustainable cities and communities; and the digital revolution—students will examine how political institutions, incentives, and governance structures shape progress toward sustainable development. |
