Course Description | This course introduces the evaluation ecosystem of the United Nations system and its role in supporting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students will examine how evaluation is institutionalized across UN entities, explore common evaluation types and methods, and consider challenges posed by system complexity, cross-cutting mandates, and UN reform. The course combines theory with practice, emphasizing critical thinking and applied skills through group projects, case-based exercises, and stakeholder simulations. Topics include gender and human rights integration, systems thinking, the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus, and emerging trends such as decolonizing evaluation and AI-driven methodologies. |
