Course Description

MIA & MPA Leadership and Management II Core. This course trains students to become effective spokespersons and communications directors in any sector—government, nonprofit, or private enterprise. The class focuses on developing practical skills and insight into the extensive role of communications in achieving organizational goals.

Students will assume the role of a communications executive for a real organization of their choice for the duration of the course. Assignments will be framed from this perspective, including developing a public relations strategy, drafting executive communications, preparing weekly media reports, and planning crisis responses.
