Course Description

This course will analyze the ways in which social inequalities are produced and reinforced within the digital world. We will study the ways in which the digital media has shaped public discourse through a variety of media infrastructures like digital platforms, apps, and social media sites. The course will also highlight how the digital creates place-based inequalities, in terms of environmental degradation or surveillance, as well as the lack of access to basic resources like the internet.
