| Course Description | This course explores how Japan’s most enduring stories and cultural figures—from "The Tale of Genji" and Bashō’s poetry to Kaguya-hime, Momotarō, and beyond—have been continually reimagined across time. We will trace adaptations through literature, art, theater, film, anime, games, fashion campaigns and popular media, asking how each generation reshapes the classics for its own world. |
